The following message serves as an update to my original opinion of the horror movie titled "Buddy." This message will not include a description of the movie itself but rather my new opinion of it. For the description of the movie, please refer to my original review of the movie while disregarding my original opinion of it which is featured in the original review.

I recently saw the 2026 horror movie titled " Buddy." As I am generally a fan of certain horror movies, I was initially looking forward to seeing this movie. The first time I went to see it, I could not stay for the entire duration of the movie so I did not see what happened past the 15 minute mark. With that, I went ahead and did a review based on the parts of this movie that I saw and it appeared to me that the main character Buddy, (who was depicted as an anthropomorphic talking orange unicorn,) wasn't as bad as he turned out to be. It appeared to me that he was just teaching the children featured in this movie life lessons with him turning evil anytime one of the children disobeys him. In a way, it presented itself as a way to teach children that when they don't follow instructions or do as they're told, there would be consequences. The consequences in this film would be much more heinous as this would trigger his negative emotions which in turn would have caused him to turn against the kids. This was what I was able to gather through the 15 minutes of this film I originally watched. Buddy appeared as if he would always be cheerful unless the children didn't listen to him. This is why I initially rated this movie with a perfect score in my original review while mistakenly making Buddy look like the victim having to deal with children that are unruly. With all this in mind, I want to tell everybody a little story of how I crossed paths once again with a mascot who I even sarcastically deemed worthy of being my best friend and even my roommate in my original review. I want to share how I went in the theatre and watched the movie again only to drastically change my review before I even left the theatre. I never knew that a 90 minute period could change my mind so decisively but it did. The problem was that for those who had read my original review, I felt like I was misleading them. I knew I had to come clean and make things right. Those who have indeed read my review to this point can disregard it and replace it with the opinion I'm going write at this moment. I do apologize for offending anyone or misleading them in anyway.

Initially I had felt bad for not seeing the Buddy movie after wanting to see it for so many months before it's release. I was set to see another movie today but in my mind I had my heart set on seeing Buddy as I was curious as to how the movie ended. Since I initially got a refund the first time I went, it was then deemed a possibility which got much worse as the day progressed. I turned on my tv this morning and there was a news story about parents who had brought their children to see the movie as they thought it was a kid's movie. A number of them complained and demanded a refund, almost blaming the theatre themselves for showing the movie. This only served to spike my curiosity as I wondered how bad it could have been if it appeared to me that it was just a kid's movie with a somewhat dark premise.

Arriving at the theatre, I found that the movie I was going to see was completely sold out. With my desire to find out how "Buddy" ended now at it's highest level, I gave in and went to see it again. A recurring theme in my life is me not seeing the big picture and not understanding the reality of certain situations. Also, I have a hard time putting myself in other people's shoes and changing my opinion on certain things without proof that I was wrong and the other person was right, ETC. Often times when this happens, I will feel somewhat stupid and even apologetic for not listening to them initially. Little did I know that by the end of this movie, Buddy had gone from hero to zero in my book and that everybody was right in their assumption to complain about a movie and demand their money back. The part of the movie I did not see was what made all the difference. Buddy accomplished something that no horror movie had done to me since I was a kid. I'm currently 36 years old as I write this. I love horror movies and for the most part, I know they are just that, movies. However, Buddy was so dark and sinister that he got into my head and I was made to believe that it was real. I found out that there is definitely a time gap between when a person exits the theatre after seeing that movie and when that person reenters reality after finally coming to terms with the fact that it's just a movie. I generally felt afraid watching this movie. I found myself shaking out of fear and believing that Buddy had caused certain things to happen in reality that were initially to my discredit. As I left the theatre in a hurry to use the washroom, I could not shake the image of that freak from my head. As I was waiting for my bus, I thought that people entering and exiting the theatre was him and when my bus ended up being a few minutes late, (as they are most of the time,) I thought he was tampering with the bus service. I know this sounds ridiculous but I actually genuinely felt like I had been reverting back to my childlike state of mind as I was afraid of something I saw in a movie. However, if this can happen to an adult who is generally a fan of these types of movies, you should be expecting any child to act much worse than I did after seeing this movie. They would likely have nightmares if they saw it so for those who might be planning your next movie trip, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! It doesn't matter if Buddy is portrayed as a children's character through the trailer or the movie poster. You will find once you get to the theatre that he's a monster and he should not be viewed as a child friendly character at all. I dare say that it is not worth the money to see this. I cannot believe they put this piece of garbage in theatres. I don't even know what the target demographic is. Clearly, it's not children. So I urge anybody with children who is planning their next movie outing to avoid this movie at all costs. By doing this, you'll be doing yourself and your children a favor. If you are looking for another movie you and your kids might enjoy, I recently saw the new movie "Coyote Vs. Acme" which is the basic Looney Tunes story and is suitable for all. In this movie, everything is exactly as described. There are no violent undertones or anything like that. Anyone who has ever seen the Looney Tunes or is a fan of it will enjoy this movie. As for Buddy however, I think it's just best if everybody forgets it ever existed. I will now provide everyone with my real opinion of this movie.
