Privacy policy

Information we collect

Buddha Savings does not require an account and does not ask for personal information to browse the site. If you email us, we keep that correspondence only for as long as needed to answer you.

Affiliate links

When you follow a link to Amazon.ca, Amazon may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy in order to attribute the referral. That activity is governed by Amazon, not by this site.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful. This data is not used to identify individual visitors.

When you click a link that opens Amazon.ca, we record a first-party event on our own servers: the time, the page you were on, which button you used, the product involved, the campaign and UTM values in the link that brought you here, whether your screen is phone, tablet or desktop sized, and a random identifier that lives in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. We do not record your IP address, your location, your name, your email, anything about your Amazon account, or what you buy. Nothing is shared with an advertising network and there is no cross-site tracking, so no consent banner is required for it.

Campaign values (UTM parameters) are kept in your own browser storage for up to 30 days so a visit can be counted against the right campaign. They are never appended to the Amazon.ca links you follow. Clearing your browser storage removes them entirely, and the compare tray and recently-viewed list also stay only in your browser.

Meta Pixel and advertising measurement

With your consent we load the Meta Pixel (Pixel ID 272435677099018), a measurement tool provided by Meta. It records a PageView event when you open a page or move between pages on this site, and a custom AmazonOutboundClick event when you click a link that opens Amazon. That outbound event includes the destination link, the text of the link you clicked, the page path you were on, and the product name where we can derive it. The Meta Pixel may set cookies and share this activity with Meta under Meta's own privacy policy, which can be used for advertising measurement.

The pixel is not loaded or initialised at all until you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you choose “Decline”, no Meta script is downloaded and no events are sent. Your choice is stored in your own browser only.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by selecting Tracking preferences here or in the site footer, then choosing Decline. Clearing your browser storage also removes the stored choice, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
