Even though I’m aware that the purpose of writing these reviews is to give a detailed description of the movies I watch, I have a little problem with this one. You see, to be able to review a certain movie, I have to at least have an idea of what the movie is about or know what it’s about in general.

As I do not want to be completely outside my routine of reviewing movies, I will end by at least providing my final score for the Jeff O Meter. However, this score will be anything but desirable. I hope the next movie I watch is much better than this one.

Jefferson Bert’s personal author message

Even though I’m aware that the purpose of writing these reviews is to give a detailed description of the movies I watch, I have a little problem with this one. You see, to be able to review a certain movie, I have to at least have an idea of what the movie is about or know what it’s about in general.

Admittedly, there was a point in my life before I started doing reviews when going to the movies meant eating popcorn and candy while paying little to no attention to the movie I chose to see due to my lack of interest. While there was the odd time during this period that the movie did matter, these instances were few and far between, and most of the time, I would choose to go and see a movie that I had never heard of and that I knew I wouldn’t like, which was something that everybody around me ridiculed, just for the enjoyment of the popcorn.

I would come home from the theatre and wouldn’t know what to say when someone asked me to describe the movie I watched. If I did provide a description, it was likely one that was wrong. The fact is that most of the time, I was accused of wasting money on going to the movies if it was just to eat the popcorn, since I could have just eaten some at home. Of course, I was always in denial of this fact, though I knew deep down that everybody was right.

Times have changed since then, though, as I have made it my mission to one day pursue my dream of being a movie critic. Each time I go to the movies these days, I have to study it really hard through the trailer and decide if it’s worth seeing and giving an honest opinion, but more importantly, if it’s worth spending all the money to see it.

Even though this is not a paying job yet, I believe that it is probably the closest thing I’ll have to a real job and to do something decent with my life other than sit around all day doing nothing. This is serious business to me.

Having said that, there are still a few times these days that I can completely misjudge a movie and go and see it. Once I’m there, I realize that the movie was not what I thought it was, either because the trailer misled me in some way or it turned out to not be as good as the trailer made it out to be.

During this time, I usually struggle to formulate any sort of review that I can muster up despite the lack of enjoyment and the obvious score of 0 that the movie in question would receive for the review. Some movies are so bad that I even consider not reviewing them at all. However, I choose to write whatever comes to mind when all is said and done to fulfill my commitment of reviewing every single movie. I also do not want to make it a habit of only reviewing certain movies, as I fear that my determination to do this on a full-time basis will go down as a result.

As bad as most movies are, they usually include a brief description prior to the author’s message, which is supposed to give insight on my personal opinion of the movie in question. Well, first of all, if anybody wanted to count this as one of the movies I went and saw for the enjoyment of the popcorn, they could do just that, no matter if this would have been meant as a criticism or not.

Second of all, you will notice that this movie lacks a proper description of what to expect and it just goes straight to the author’s message. I’m not being lazy in doing this, but the fact is that I don’t even know what this movie was about. If I’m being completely honest, I was pretty much daydreaming from start to finish, with this movie basically providing background noise while I was deep in thought.

I realized that when I was able to dream up a better movie in my head than what was playing on the screen, this movie would suffer in terms of its overall rating. At times, I actually forgot I was in a movie theatre and even closed my eyes for a minute numerous times throughout. I will say that there were a few times when I actually paid attention to what was happening on the screen, but this was nowhere near enough for me to even know what this movie was about, much less enough to allow me to formulate a proper review for it.

I have to say that I certainly didn’t pick this movie, but at the same time, it’s a really good thing I didn’t pay for it either. It would have been a complete waste of money. For those of you who want my opinion on this movie, I really wouldn’t recommend it.

As I do not want to be completely outside my routine of reviewing movies, I will end by at least providing my final score for the Jeff O Meter. However, this score will be anything but desirable. I hope the next movie I watch is much better than this one.
