Key considerations in Tools & Home Improvement
Small, useful hardware rather than power tools: adhesives, hanging strips, gloves, extension cords and power bars. Ratings and load limits are printed on these listings for a reason, and they are the numbers we read first.
What to check on the listing
- Stated weight limits, lengths and gauge ratings, especially on anything that hangs or carries current.
- Indoor versus outdoor rating, which is a safety distinction rather than a preference.
- Count per pack on consumables such as strips, gloves and adhesives.
- Surface and material compatibility named on the listing.
Before you order
- Hanging strips are rated per pair — add up the rating for the number you will actually use.
- Use only cords and power bars explicitly rated for outdoor use outside, and check the length before ordering.
- Adhesive listings state their working and cure times separately; both matter for a repair.
- Glove listings quote sizes and thickness in mils; both change how a task feels.
