Jeff’s final score for Hush — one man, one couch, one honest number.

This movie follows a new mother in law who appears to be welcoming to her new daughter in law when her son brings her home for the holidays. As time goes on, she begins to retract her original feelings towards her son's new bride and plots to end the relationship at any cost after the pair reveal their plans to get married and announce that they are having a baby.
Content noteHorror/thriller: not recommended for young children; strong sexual content, nudity, brief violence, scenes discussing childbirth and potential miscarriage, scene depicting a mugging, some medical scenes, mature themes, minor graphic scenes, scenes which discuss pregnancy
Jeff’s take
This was another movie I had a hard time formulating a review for. I had a long day yesterday and I may have underestimated how tired I was from the day's events as I fell asleep about 15 minutes into this movie only to awaken halfway through having lost my general perception of what this movie was about. Even though this is the first time I saw this movie, I had previously heard about it's premise and this helped a little bit in being able to formulate a review despite a big chunk of the movie being missed. On the surface, I could have easily just rated the movie as a fail since I barely saw any of it. As always, I'm nothing but fair in my reviews and if there's a way to boost a movie's rating despite it not being good or missing some parts of it, I will find it. This is the case for this movie. I didn't really understand the main plot of it even when I was awake. It was something along the lines of the woman secretly not accepting the son's new bride as it appeared that she was developing empty nest syndrome. From the dialogue in the movie, it appeared that she would make her true feelings show and be revealed as the movie's villain while both her son and the bride were oblivious of this until the very end. Despite this, as I failed to see the entire movie and didn't completely understand its premise, it still would have failed miserably. However, this movie did deliver on one thing that I admire the most. I thoroughly enjoyed the first 15 or 20 minutes of this movie because that's when the nudity and sexuality was occurring. I would think anybody who is a fan of erotic movies and romantic movies would be stupid to fall asleep when there's as much nudity and sexuality in front of them as there was in this movie opening few minutes. I can honestly say that I was wide awake, (as I'm sure anybody else would be,) during these scenes. It got to a point where I felt as though the main plot wasn't necessary after seeing this. It didn't matter to me what the woman's intentions were or how this movie ended even though this is really the point in doing these reviews. The fact is that no matter this movie was about, I can honestly say that it was a pass for me. As always, some people may disagree or think I'm being a chauvinist in saying this. Everybody else can have their own opinion and this is mine. This movie is a must watch for any romance enthusiast!
