This movie follows a man who is forced to take over the household duties and parental responsibilities of his three daughters after his wife's new invention lands her a spot on a tv show which necessitates a trip to promote it. It's not long for chaos to ensue following her departure due to her husband's lack of parental skills and overall understanding of the household duties.

Jeff’s take
On a personal level, I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. I love movies that depict family-like situations. This movie plays on the classic trope of mom taking over the responsibilities at home while dad earns the pay cheque for the expenses. In a way, this is how we grew up. We really only had one central parent while the other was pretty much absent from our lives, hence he was unsure of our daily schedules and what to do with us, ETC. There is a big difference between this movie and our personal situation though and this is that the father in this movie really does mean well and cares about his daughters. He might have had some missteps along the way but this just added to this movie's good points. It was somewhat predictable just by seeing the trailer. I knew it would be something along the lines of the father being put in charge of taking care of the house and the kids while his wife was away for work ETC. These types of movies are very predictable as something usually ends up happening by the time the wife returns to prove her earlier point that the husband shouldn't be left alone despite his point that it is no problem. Of course, he finds the household responsibilities to be too much only for him to realize that his wife was right all along and that he was basically in over his head. I've actually seen a lot of movies like this so I was waiting to see what would happen in this movie's case. Sure enough, something does happen, (I will not say what happens so I don't ruin it for those who have not seen the movie.) Despite its overall predictability, this movie was a great one to watch and was very entertaining from start to finish. I saw this movie when it was released it theatres. It was so good that I wondered if I could ever go back and see it despite how much it would cost. Being able to rent it and enjoy it again afforded me that luxury. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. It's very well done and should be recommended to everyone!

When the two men cross paths due to coincidence throughout the journey, he'll soon find that getting home for Thanksgiving is only half the battle.
